The Chairman of the Committee for fishery complex of the Murmansk region Andrey Ivanov and the Deputy minister of economic development of the Murmansk region - the head of the Department of external economic relations, cross-border and interregional cooperation Yury Smirnov took part in a working meeting with the Head of the Faroe Islands' representative office in Russia Bjorn Kunoy today. The main issue discussed at the meeting was the visit of the Faroe Islands' specialists in the fields of aquaculture and fish processing which is planned for June in Murmansk. The delegation will arrive in Murmansk to establish bilateral business contacts, discuss prospects of cooperation and for the exchange of experiences and business ideas. Andrey Ivanov recalled that the fact that the Faroe Islands did not join the sanctions imposed by some countries against Russia creates favorable conditions for closer cooperation. Participants of the meeting stressed that the Murmansk region and the Faroe Islands have a great potential for bilateral cooperation.
